Menopause Discussion Groups
Are you experiencing symptoms of perimenopause or menopause? You are not alone.
Many people have questions about menopause, its symptoms, and the treatments available. At North Swindon Practice, we are pleased to offer regular Menopause Discussion Groups, providing a welcoming and supportive environment where you can learn more about your options and make informed decisions about your care.
Menopause Discussion Groups
These will be facilitated discussions on menopause treatment with input from a clinician with an interest in the menopause. These discussions are for anyone considering hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for the first time.
Sessions provide clear information on menopause treatment options with a focus on HRT. They also offer a supportive space to share experiences.
What do the discussions cover?
Menopause symptoms and how they vary from person to person.
Ways to manage symptoms:
- HRT treatment options, including benefits and risks.
- Alternative treatments, such as lifestyle changes.
- Signposting to other support resources.
What to expect:
Each 90-minute session is attended by around 12 to 15 people. After the group discussion, there is an opportunity for a brief individual consultation to discuss starting HRT. If suitable, a prescription may be issued at this time.
How to take part:
If you’re considering HRT and would like to join the group discussion, register your interest using the link below. Simply log into our admin portal and 'Ask a question' noting this group (example below).
Once registered, we will confirm a session date. We will also ask you to complete some medical information to make sure HRT is a safe option for you.
The next session takes place at Home Ground Surgery, Haydon Wick on Wednesday 30th September at 5pm.
