You can get your test results online without having to visit the surgery.

How to get test results

Please call after 11:00 to enquire about your test results as our reception staff will have more time to deal with your request.


Note that the practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and we will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.
When you take your test you will be told how long it will be before the results are returned to the practice.


It is your responsibility to check your results and to make an appointment to discuss them with your doctor if your are advised to do so.

How long does it take to get my test results?

When you attend a test of any kind, you will be told how long you should expect to wait for the results. Blood test results usually take five working days to get back and be checked by your GP. If there is anything that needs discussing further, your GP will call you as soon as they get the results back. If there are no problems with the results, then you will not be contacted.

Samples

All blood, urine and other samples are collected daily at 14:30 and taken to the pathology department at Great Western Hospital.

Samples must be delivered to the hospital on the day of collection and therefore appointments to have samples taken must be prior to 14:30.

Samples collected at home must be named and dated, and handed to reception by 14:30 in the bag provided.
